Kid Capri‘s real name is David Anthony Love Jr. Following his father’s footsteps in the music, he took his passion to the next level. He was just 8, when he started DJ’ing block parties and now Kid Capri hosts Kid Capri’s Block Party every weekend on Sirius XM-Fly. Kid is the original guru of mixtapes. He was the first to recognize their profit potential & effectiveness for marketing & distribution.
Kid is a Grammy award winning producer who has produced music for the biggest names in the game like Snoop Dogg, L.L. Cool J., Foxy Brown, Nas, The Lox, Big Pun, Jay-Z, Heavy D, 50 Cent, Busta Rhymes, and Uncle Luke the list goes on…. Kid collaborated with Kendrick Lamar to narrate Kendrick’s new album, DAMN.
Kid was the first DJ to appear & perform on major TV networks like BET & VH1. No stranger to awards, Snoop Dogg presented Kid with the Red Award in honor of DJ Red Alert. At the Global Spin Awards, Russell Simmons & Just Blaze presented Kid with the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award at the New York Times Center.
Kid produced on various soundtracks for film, music, television and has done several music projects. Kid has completed 2 classic albums, with a third on the way called “TOP TIER.” He has produced tracks for Heavy D, Big L, Boogie Down Productions & Grand Puba. He released an LP on Warner Brothers Records titled “The Tape” in 1991.
This triple threat: DJ, Rapper, Producer is no stranger to touring with multi-platinum artists. Having hit the road with the likes of: Sean “P. Diddy” Combs, NAS, Lil’ Kim, Mase, Jay-Z, Usher, R-Kelly, Mary J. Blige, L.L. Cool J, Foxy Brown, Dru Hill, Ginuwine, Aaliyah, Busta Rhymes, and Def Comedy Jam (1993 – 2001).
He may be from Da Bronx, but Kid gets in those private jets & takes his unique sounds to every part of the world. Kid toured extensively in the Europe, Haiti, Africa, U.S., Mexico, Japan, Canada…..
Currently, Kid Capri is running Kid Capri Enterprise and No Kid N Records, his own record label. The G.I.V.A. Kid-Foundation is a personal passion project for Kid Capri. G.I.V.A. Kid-Foundation is a charitable 501c3 foundation aimed at enhancing the lives of under privileged youth.
