Stars of “I Am You”, Hakan Aydin & Ali Pinar with ChanceTV

Based on a true story, “I AM YOU” is a powerful independent film about Afghan refugees and their will to survive. Produced by Lawrence Bender (Producer of all Tarantino’s films) and directed by Sonia Nassery Cole of Breadwinner Productions, the movie stars Hakan Aydin and Ali Pinar, both of Turkish decscent.

Chance Spiessbach of ChanceTV had the opportunity to join Hakan and Ali on the red carpet at the “I AM YOU” world premiere for an exclusive interview.

Stars Bios:

Hakan Aydin is an actor, known for Rise of Empires: Ottoman (2020), Sifir Bir (2020) and I Am You (2019).

Ali Pinar started his professional career as an assistant in The National Theater of Istanbul as well as the former Cemal Resit Rey Opera. On the side, he started to act in various plays and operas, then since 1995, acted in film and TV commercials internationally. Recently on TV, he acted in Cesur&Güzel and in Gunesin Kizlari. Both TV series were popular in Turkey and broadcasted worldwide. He also presented Sinepolitik, a weekly program about cinema and politics on National News Channel (TRT Haber.) Of further note, performed The Narrator in Prokofiev’s Peter and The Wolf with Tekfen Philharmonic Orchestra led by maestro Darrel Ang and performed in numerous concerts since 2016 as a singer with TangoNEVA ensemble, where he sings songs from seven different languages.

Sonia Cole is the Director of “I AM YOU.” She is also an Actress, Author, Humanitarian and Activist who founded the Afghanistan World Foundation and is the recipient of numerous awards including “Congressional Recognition” and “Freedom to Write” from PEN Center.
